Retreat - District Youth Retreat at Camp Koinonia, Nov 17-19

On the weekend before Thanksgiving, there is a youth retreat at Camp Koinonia sponsored by the District.  It will be a good time to get together with many of the youth from the District for a lot of fun and fellowship.  Marla Fralin, our District Youth Coordinator, is organizing it.  Plan to be there.  We always have a great time at Camp Koinonia!  Watch for more details about costs and transportation soon. 

Service Project – Purchasing Food for Thanksgiving Baskets, Nov 1-16

At Thanksgiving time each year, members of the church collect food, and money to buy food items, to provide Thanksgiving baskets of food for families in the community and also for a women’s shelter.  This year the youth have been asked to participate by accompanying adult members to stores to buy and pick up food items for the baskets.  Most of this activity needs to be done during the first two weeks of November.  We need at least a dozen youth to volunteer to help with this service project.

Fund Raiser - Fall Church Bazaar, November 18

In the past, the youth have been in charge, with some adult help, of the food booth.  We have used this occasion as an opportunity to raise funds for youth activities.  Even though this is happening at the same time as the Youth Retreat at Camp Koinonia, there may be a few youth who can’t make it up to Koinonia for the whole weekend who could help out at the Bazaar food booth instead.
